one of OLF's main propaganda was presenting the Oromo people as victims of Ethiopian Nationalism and that Oromos have nothing to do with the Ethiopian State affairs.

Now the truth is coming out many Oromos are calling for war against Eritrea as if they are former supporters of Haile-Selassie and Mengistu

so how many Oromos supported Haile Selassie?

I can estiminate around 30% and only 10% opposed him around 60% of Oromos never cared about haileselassie

Mengistu had the support of 40% of Oromo and 15% opposed with around 45% never caring about mengistu

Now with Abiy at the throne around 55% of Oromos support Abiy with around 15% opposition and 30% never caring about Abiy

I can't group all Eritreans together

but I can say

1. Muslim Tigre and Beja of Northern/Western Eritrea
- in 1962 - 50% opposed HIM, 45% did not care about HIM | 5% Supported HIM
- in 1974 - 95% opposed HIM, 5% did not care about HIM | 0% Supported HIM

Haile Selassie was most hated and resisted by the Arabists of Northern and Western Eritrea. The Ethiopian military realized that and burned down 62 villages during the reign of HIM so how do you expect them to support HIM? in fact Gash Barka and Nakfa province belong to Sudan in religion and culture and should have never been given to Ethiopia

2. Muslim Afar of Dankalia
- in 1962 - 5% opposed HIM, 85% did not care about HIM | 10% Supported HIM
- in 1974 - 5% opposed HIM, 85% did not care about HIM | 10% Supported HIM

Haile Selassie faced little to no resistance by the Afar people. EPLF forced Afar people by gun to be separated from Ethiopia

3. Christian Tigrinya of Central Eritrea
- in 1962- 20% opposed HIM, 50% did not care about HIM | 30% Supported HIM
- in 1974 - 40% opposed HIM, 35% did not care about HIM | 15% Supported HIM

Remember Isaias Afwerki dad supported Haile Selassie. The Central Christian Tigrinya lands of Eritrea were not being massacred by Haile Selassie they were also preffered by Haile Selassie to join the Ethiopian Army by Ras Kassa Aserate and stop the Arabist ELF movement in the lowlands. The hatred against Haile selassie grew mostly after Aman Andom assasination
