Most desolate regions of Ethiopia are most problematic

No economic resources. Arid clilmate with very little rain. And some of desert. Only useless cactus plant and sparse acacia trees grow. Very little shrub or grass. Sandy soil with rock outcrops with a look of Planet Mars.
Lands infertile and desolate
Mostly uneducated people.
No industrial skills, no farming skills. Majority live on the lives of cattle...nomads
What does Ethiopia benefit from them other than life and money losses to keep owning a largely usesless realestates?
