The creation of a Greater Afar State from the present states of Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti is a matter of when, not how.The only problem is that Abiy Ahmed and his Oromos want Afar to be under Oromo control and that will not work.

Of all what's happening in Ethiopia, including the wars that have been bleeding out the country, you're all parroting Assab and Somaliland, as if these would add anything to Ethiopia!
Guess what - when Ethiopia was using Eritrea's ports free of charge, its GDP was between 1% and 2%. While since Eritrea got out of your expansionist equation and Ethiopia depended on Djibouti's port, the GDP of Ethiopia has reached 9%.

According to Abiy Ahmed, Ethiopia does not need to use other people's ports, but rather needs it's own ports in the Red Sea and a gateway to the Red Sea as well, which means that parts (if not all) of Eritrea (Dankalia) and northern Somalia (Somaliland) will soon be under Ethiopia.

The Afars are getting closer.
The Republic of Afar, the state that is as old as Ethiopia, will soon be a reality in the Red Sea.
It is a matter of time.
