Ethiopia Will Not Withdraw Its Army From Somalia!

Post by Horus » 30 Aug 2024, 21:06

In fact Ethiopia is reinforcing its most experienced 10,000 army with more equipment. And, if necessary she can add thousands more on moments call. This is our national security on line!

Somaliman,

All those weapons Egypt sent to frighten Ethiopia will soon be in the hands of local clans and their militias and be on the weapon black market. I am sure right now the networking is already on!!

Ethiopia is not removing her army. In fact they are being reinforced. Now, let's see if Egyptian soldiers can kick us out?!!!

Old man Horsee,

You are not that smart after all. Egypt is not there to defend anybody. It has a self interest in the well being of the Renaissance Dam.  That is a life line to Egypt. Third world idiots like you don’t know what to do with an access to the Red Sea even if you had one. Maritime power is for the big boys. You are not one of them. Your warships are miniature toys compared to the giant forces around the Red Sea. Kiosk chat smoking old man, know your place.  :x

You seem to be so angry; I can guess why? You sweaty faced El-sisy is making a buffoon out of himself. He has no business in the backyards of Ethiopia. Do you understand what that means? My advice is you freaking mind your business.

I've told you, you haven't learned sh'it from your 56 years chi'chatting about politics.

Why does Egypt have to bother kicking your dirty ar'ses out of Somalia? FYI, Somalia belongs to the Somali people.
I bet you're confusing Somalia with an ethnic federal state in Ethiopia.

FYI, Ethiopia is begging to let it be part of the new AU mission for Somalia. Let the bit'ch utter that it won't leave Somalia, and you would see it kicked out even before Dec. The world is governed by laws, conventions, and international bodies, not by force.

Somalia is the master of itself.

The truth is that begging to stay in Somalia has nothing to do with Egypt or Al Shabab's threat, but because Ethiopia has not been paying its troops in Somalia for years and, in addition, it's getting significant sums of money for its troops in Somalia. Moreover, its troops are sending a lot of money back home and are supporting bigger families, and their lowest wages while in Somalia is $1500 each per month. Ethiopia should be grateful to Somalia for letting all these fuc'kers to be paid higher than your ministers in its name.

In my opinion, Ethiopia who contributed militarily immensely to help Somalia form its current city bound Federal Government of Somalia, by kicking the Islamist Jihadis from different regions of the country, should leave it immediately.
Ethiopians should know, Somalia will be back again under the al Shabab Jihadis and the many other clan militia. The old Somalia will never be one again. The best strategy for Ethiopia is stay away from Mogadishu and focus on Somaliland.
The opportunist Arab Egyptians are not better than the Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq, or the Saudis and Emirates in Yemen. Egypt will not bring any stability in Somalia where they did not do in Sudan. Once guns and the religion of Islam come together, it is all a business of destruction. See the good examples of Yemen, Afghanistan, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and many others.

Old man Guragie Horsee,

Believe me when I say, Ethiopia is no contest to Egypt. Remember, Egypt is not in your class. But, your Agame master had the balls to build the Nile dam which happens to be the life line of Egypt. In other words, Meles gave you a homework. BTW, your tiny Guragie behind belongs to your tiny little kiosk. Let the big boys (Amhara and Oromo) talk. You are just a pest.

"Come January, out you go!", said the government of Somalia to the Ethiopian occupation forces in the country.

The question is why do you even want to be in Somalia . It's just a waste of human resources. There should be no Ethiopian troops in Somalia.

Mesob,

I think you too are missing a crucial point. The man in the name of Sheik Hassan Mohammed himself has admitted in one of his media interviews that Al-Shabab is not a danger to only Somalia, it is a regional and a global terrorist entity, the same as Al-Qaida or ISIS were risks to global peace. Ethiopia too has said it has a legitimate concern if Al-Shabab was to regroup itself and become stronger in Somalia, it has already staged multiple attacks against Ethiopia, which has paid heavily to foil those attacks. These are known and tangible facts on the ground.

If Ethiopia leaves the failed state of Somalia today, then no one will be able to guarantee that the entity will never be a threat to Ethiopia anymore. In the absence of such a guarantee from anybody Ethiopia has no other option than fending off the danger herself, you fight the danger near its source, or at the place of your choice.

The questions all decision makers in this regard to answer are if Ethiopia has a legitimate concern to its national security and in that case if there is any other reliable body to warrant that the risk will be eliminated. The deployment of Egyptian forces to Somalia will exacerbate the risk, not reduce it by any stretch of the imagination. In fact Egypt is part of the problem.

Ethiopia has a legitimate nation security concern stemming from Somalia. Ethiopia has to fight it! As such Ethiopia is a stakeholder in the business, not Egypt in this regard.

How is AU or somebody else supposed to ignore these glaring facts on the ground?

Read this comment and listen to Ambassador Taye Astsekeselasie's media briefing from yesterday. You will see how Ethiopia is confident of her position then after.

I commented on your reply here already and surfing the internet and found the following more elaborate and researched opinion of the Reporter in Ethiopia, which is not known to be pro-government or even against the so called "Oromuma" government, but here it is about more than internal bickering of the parties.
“All those responsible for preparing and authorizing a new peace support mission must take into account the legitimate concerns of countries of the region and the TCCs. Forces trying to inflame tension for their short term and futile objectives must shoulder the grave ramifications. Ethiopia cannot tolerate these actions that endanger the gains made against regional and international terrorist groups. Ethiopia remains committed to the peaceful resolution of differences and to working with the people of Somalia and the international community to avert dangers to the peace and stability of the region,” reads the statement.
The link between Al-Shabab and Shane has already been identified and there are also other suspects carrying the mission of Ethiopia's arch-enemies. Those robbing the people they once told us to liberate can only be acting on behalf of others!
An analyst who spoke to The Reporter anonymously argues that Egypt’s primary interest lies not in fighting Al-Shabaab and stabilizing Somalia, but in creating a proxy war between Somalia and Ethiopia by supporting insurgents like al-Shabaab, OLF Shene, Fano, and other armed groups.

“Destabilizing Ethiopia is their main target to deter Ethiopia’s effort to utilize its resources, especially the GERD. Somalia also wants Ethiopia’s instability to deter it from realizing the MoU. It is a testing time for Ethiopia’s diplomacy and security,” said the analyst.
