Somaliland as an alternate port initiative was catalyzed during Hailemariam's tenure whose administration was slated as one of the worlds premier manufacturing destinations; which Abiy has wilfully and completely has destroyed since.
Such being the scenario, why would Ethiopia need a port let alone a navy? So too, Kenya has laid out a standard gage rail that stretches out from Mombasa to Nairobi, making it a better additional alternative to Djibouti than Somaliland.
