The map you show is a couple of hundred years old, the name Ethiopia was mentioned as part of the Axumite Empire more than 1700 years ago. Check the Ezana's inscription.

It was an Identity Theft of grandiose proportions. The European colonial powers sow the seed of deception into the hearts and minds of the Abyssinians which led them to pretend to be something they're not. Abyssinian warlords are known for their "We are not a Negro, we are Caucasians" remarks. The real Ethiopians are of a Negro race.
