A certain Egyptian media declares, quoting an Egyptian "water expert":
- Ethiopia shouldn't retain water (in order to fill its dam), impacting water reaching Egypt
- Ethiopia shouldn't retain its sediment (which the expert said will going to reduce the productivity of Egyptian agriculture) and
- threatens with a regional war, while moving its troops to Somalia in the name of Peace-Keeping Mission there!

Re: What does Egypt want with regard to the GERD?
Fanuel from Fentale media thinks that has to do with two reasons.
1. Al Sisi's amendment of the the constitution
2. The coming into effect of Seyoum Mesfin's brainchild Nile Basin Cooperative Framework Agreement into International Law on 08 Sept 2024 following the ratification by a sixth country - South Sudan
