Afån Oromo Teachers and Oromo Policy Makers Lack Creativity, they Keep Qubé Amorphous!

It was nice attempt that Oromo scholars like Dr. Haile Fida and Oromo organizations such as the OLF created, used and promoted Qubé, which is more suitable than Geez-Fidel to write Afån Oromo. Using double consonants and double vowels was very good to differentiale words according to their concrete meanings. At that time, there was no appropriate computer technology to replace the double letters with single letter plus certain sign. But, now at this modern era of computers, why do Afån Oromo teachers and Oromo policy makers lack creativity and stick to the hitherto amorphous writing of Qubé with bulk of double letters? I think, it is possible to get rid of at least double vowels, if not be free from double consonants.

We were told the reason of borrowing alien alphabets from overseas was to overcome the pitfalls of gemination in Afan Oromo (so called dheeraa/ gabaaba, jabaa/laafaa) which the authors claimed back then the homegrown geeze Alphabet, which was also co-developed by the Oromo people themselves over generations) didn't lend itself well to represent Afan Oromo.

Now you came back and proposed to extend the same borrowed alien alphabet because the use of this alphabet proved itself now "amorphous".

Now a logical and simple question is why then, if extending is needed anyway, then why simply don't extend the homegrown alphabet itself instead of first borrowing from others and then make an additional effort of extending it (by using so called special characters). Geeze can also equally be extended, by using Diacritic (an accent, see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diacritic). But you don't have an answer here and I know why.

It is clear that all enemies of the Oromo mainly target the core identity of the nation – Afån Oromo. The past Habesha regimes prevented it from being used officially and tried to eliminste it. The present rule of the Hybrids (marital, physical and/or mental Diqalas) led by Abiy Ahmed are also vehmently determined to keep Afaan Oromo at second level by maintaining the hitherto domination of Amarigna/Amaranet over Oromummaa. It is now the main job of genuine Oromo nationalists rallying behind the OLF/OLA and OFC to promote Afån Oromo to its legitimate leading primary position replacing Amarigna. Then, it can be the primary working language of all federal institutions like the parlament, palace, cabine, court, military and security. The promotion need to be in triple way: 1. make it free from balk of vowels, 2. use it as primary federal language & 3. apply it to sing all musics of different cultures in Ethiopia as well as others in the world. I specially recomend to sing the Gonderigna beat of Yejjuu and Tigrigna rhythm of Råyyå in Afån Oromo.

Ge'ez itself is not the most suitable script for writing any language. Not for ge'ez. Not for Tigray. Not for Amharic. It doesn't have a mechanism to show where a sound is long or where there is stress.

Ge'ez got imposed on people thru religion and some level of coercion by those who were close to power.
Ge'ez as a semitic language, was supposed to use the abjad pronunciation attachments used to write Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic, etc. But it uses the abugida pronunciation attachments used in East Indian syllabic languages. Greeks who hated Arabs did not want Axum to have any connection with Arabia, and sever the linguistic, cultural and genetic bonds of both Axum and Arabia, in order to claim it their colony unshared.

Now that long years of struggle against oppression in Ethiopia have resulted in some degree of freedom of nations to right the wrongs of the past, I would adopt Latin scripts for Gurage language or use abjad attachments on Ge'ez scripts instead of abugida attachments to create desired sounds of a word.
For economy, ease of use, and global reach, Latin scripts are the best choice.

Otherwise, our qubee needs reform and modification! The major bulk of repetitions in Afån Oromo orthography is caused by using double vowels in writting the tonal long syllables. I would suggest to add 5 vowels for elongation, instead of using double vowels. For instance; ã instead of aa; é instead of ee; ɨ instead of ii; ô instead of oo and ü instead of uu! The only thing we need to make it practical is to creat keyboard and/or software for the possible writting of the 5 letters! Enjoy the following qubee music to be creative and motivated:
