Successive Ethiopian govs have been hostile to Gurage. The EPRDF and PP have accelerated its death as a nation by splitting into ots componnent parts and allowing each dialect groups to declare independent of each other.

EPRDF organized and financed Silte to exit from Gurage. It's application to the Ethiopian parliament to be recognized a nation separate from and independent of Gurage allowed.

Under Abiy Ahmed, in order to get development money, Gurages are told to sing a new song, a new song of disunity, a self-determination and independent nation-hood of each dialect group.

Mesqan declared it's a nation on its own. Will offer education to primary school children in its dialect.
Kistane declared a nation on its own. Same as above
Welene declared itself a nation on its own and is seeking independence from Gurage. Same as above.
Silte is a nation on its own; has stopped calling itself Gurage since it departed from Gurage unity.

Gurage unity is put on a burner. It will soon burn out to ashes. No Group will call itself a Gurage. Individuals will identify themselves as only I am a Mesqan, Welene, Kistane, etc.

Zerma has to reach out to other groups fighting for their right, self determination and protection such Amhara fano to get some firework. They should learn how to smuggle things despite the disadvantage of geography. Real gurage should not be blackmailed by the bashasha illiterate and his minions.
