There is a culture and gene swap, often so frequently that some of the Sodo claim to be Sodo Oromo. They lost the Sodo Gurage dialect and only Speak Oromo but they identify themselves as Sodo Oromo. An example is the famous journalist Ermayas Waqjira.
My classmate from elementary to high school, his dad's name was Tulu. He did not speak Oromo, he did not travel even to Welkite. He was from Sisa, where the Atat Hospital is located. It may be that his father was trader, travelled to Weliso, Bui, or Amaya, where come close to Gallas and and interact with them. May be make good friends. When you have a child, you give them a Galla name. Nothing wrong with memorializing your friend.

This says a lot about Gurage's generosity. When you love them, when they love you, when you need them, they bring you home. You become part of the family and their culture.
That's how Gurage accepted the Maraqo and Kebena minorities; Oromo itself that has grown to an unmanageable bully. Gave them lands, intermarried with them, etc.

Tola is a common gurage name. I heard it I gues where I grew up. I don't know the origin of the word. May be Horus knows.
You and Horus happen to increase my knowledge of Gurage including the lost land and tribes. I only knew Sebat bet and Sodo gurage. The northern and eastern gurages are kind of lost souls. They flow where the economy flows. They don't have problem even to assimilate with Oromuma. Very unfortunate. Gurage lives in fragmented way and lacks unity. Unity is the first thing that should be fostered. I had an Oromo teacher who had a crash on me, and I was asking why, now I understand. It is all the "Kegna" thing and Oromumas see Gurage as their own. I don't like that. Gurage should keep its identity and Ethiopian aspiration.

Pagan Horus is a useless Oromuma, or he would soon be an Oromo. Like you said, it's easier for his likes to transition easily. I don't regret losing him. Devotes all his time admiring the fountains of Piasa and glitters of the street lights of Addis Corridor.

Gurage has shrank to 1/3 of its former size in my estimation. The 2/3 of regions of Gurage were Gelila, an immediate northwest of Gurage and Gafat, north of Gelila upto the banks of Abbay River. The last speaker of Gafat language died in 1940s. Gafat was a thriving Gurage community speaking and writing its own language when James Bruce, the discoverer of the source of the Blue Nile, visited it in 1769? from Gondar. According Prof. Wolf Leslau, a specialist on Ethiosemitics who wrote 3 volumes on Gurage dialects, interviewed the last surviving Gafat man and documented the Gafat words and grammar. This will allow the revival of the language, just like the languages of the aborigines in North America, Canada and USA, that were documented and preserved are now revived and being taught to children to learn to speak and write them.

Here I agree with you, this guy must be an uncultured and a rude person to express such rudeness in front of the public and the person of the highest office of the country. But we have to be careful before our judgment, many videos are being doctored at will by the mobs of our time, Misraq is one of them.
