Getachew Reda is unmarried and childless; his mother's name is unknown. Never fought a war. While teaching Law at Mekele University, spotted having an appetite for the spoken word, was not known having membership in TPLF prior to appointment as EPRDF spokesperson to replace Redwan Husen.
