Eritreans are still unable to correctly pronounce the name of the nation they are striving to emulate, Singapore. Their pronunciation for it is unique - Singa-poor! Don't take my word for it, take a look

I tutor the English language to disadvantaged adults. Eritreans do qualify for redemption classes in English pro nunciation.
Their country in their daydreams is pronounced as /sing/a/poor.
