Both songs are gospel Pente songs. Their rhythm comes from protestant church. The two languages are totally different. Hadiya is Hamitic language. Gurage speaks Semitic language.

hold your horses
I said they look similar not the language but their look. So if Gurage means Guraginya tenagere bicha well that means you disqualify the Gurages of Waliso (Chebo) and the Hadiya of Arsi who today only speak oromo

Sir
They are swallowed people.
Hadya used to be its own kind of empire before Oromo expansion etc as you probably know. Gurage was a lot more than what it is before again Oromo rampage and gragn atrocities. However, what I am saying is nothing much in common with regard to language similarity among southerners. All of them are proud ethiopians with proud language & specific cultural identity. Don’t assume they have similarity because the certain way you think people produce sound.
I am not trying to be ethnic centered but whichever way the country goes, the identity of these people should be allowed to be expressed but not politicized the way the dumb TPLF/OPDO/OLF/PP stealing and killing political industrial complex.
I know I have added something you don’t want to hear again.
We are doing this stupid discussion because of the ethnic scourge the above bunch and ሻውያ introduced to the country. Otherwise you and me would be discussing some thing better like the global west. Now we are bickering in our so called 100 years homework!!

Odie, don't misunderstand Noble as did Whorus. Noble did not speak of Gurage and Hadiya language or music similarities.
He only talked about similarity of the looks of the two girls singing. He specifically said, Hadiya Lady and Gurage Lady.
But he misunderstood us about what we said Whorus and I sometime in the past. He was trying to prove his misunderstanding of us as if we said Gurage and Hadiya looked different. No we did not say that. Somewhere, sometime, Whorus and I said that Halaba was a semitic group like Silte but now speaks Highland East Cushitic language, similar to Hadiya, Kembata and Sidama. They however retained their semtic dance style exactly like Silte's and Welene.
In Gurage folklore, the Inequamt subclan of Chaha that inhabits East Chaha or Anget Chaha region called Gwemare or Gumer from which Mahmud Ahmed and Hailu Fereja hail from are said to have splintered fron Halaba and settled in Gumer region of Chaha on border with Silte. They speak the Chaha dialect. Inekuamts are found anywhere and everywhere in every corner of Chaha, but their predominant location is Gwemare or West Chaha or Anget Chaha. Hailu Fereja is the husband of the gifted artist Yitagesu Meles.
Qasa Qasa: Hailu Fereja
Qasa qasa means searching for someone or something desperately, nervously, incessantly.
