He is changing the historic and renowned settlement pattern of Gurage with the Jafwar or the street at the center of every village stretch along its length. He has ordered the farming of all Jafwars on which avocado plants must be planted. A village without central access just like an oromo village.

Wosherbe is a town in Abeshge, a region of Chaha. Now, it's the administrative capital of Kebena Special Wereda. 66% of the Kebena Special Wereda are Gurages but not a single Gurage is part of the administration of the kebena Special Wereda. Just recently Kebena shifted to using Latin alphabets and is going to impose its minority language on the majority Gurages in schools, in clinics, everywhere.

Planting mango must be the park ranger bashasha clown’s idea. They could have grown it with other cash crops in ጉዋሮ if the plant was found useful.
I always say gurage must unite and create oneness to be influential in national or any global forum. It is my feeling each ወረዳ with its dialect and religion is mutually unintelligible ! They can’t feel a problem as a family!

We need a Common Gurage language. Welkite University studied this problem in 2019. They proposed to select a dialect that is understood by most Gurages. They found it's the Chaha dialect, which is 90% mutually intelligible with Mesqan. They also allowed Sodo, Welene, other dialects to be supported and retained locally.
Forging a Common Gurage language is another way. It needs creation of a completely new language from existing dialects. EPRDF tried it for Wolaita, Gammo, Gofa and Dorze, but it was rejected stating that it contained too much of Wolaita.

እንደ ወጋጎታ አይነት ወይም esperanto መፍጠር አያስፈልግም:: ፊደሉ ያው ግእዝ ፊደል ሆና የሚጨመሩ ድምፆች ይኖሩ ይሆናል:: ለምሳሌ ቸሃ ስባት ቤት ይደመጣል ለስባት ቤት ሊስራ ይችላል:: ሌሎቹ የራሳቸው አቆይተው የነሱን ስባት ቤት ውስጥ የስባት ቤቱ እነሱ ጋ ለመግባቢያ እንዲሆን ቢደረግ መግባባትና አንድነት ሊፈጥር ይችም ይሆናል ግን ለህፃናት ሊበዛባቸው ይችላል:: አማርኛና እንግሊዝኛን ግን እንደድሮው መቀጠል ይኖርበታል:: እኔ እንግሊዝኛ ኤለመንታሪ መግባት አለበት ባይ ነኝ:: ጉራጌ ተንቀሳቃሽ ህዝብ ስለሆነ ድንበር ተሻጋሪ ቋንቋዎችን መማር ይጠቅመዋል!!

For the Unity of Gurage, we need two important things.
1. A common Gurage language, taught in schools all over Gurage. Once the generation who speaks and writes language the grows, easy to use it in gov administration, education and health care, media and business. Slowly, in due time, it dwarfs the role of the dialects, and in a long term, the dialects die out. Only the Common language stands.
We lose young populations to cities and towns outside of Gurage in search of employment, because the Ethiopian gov, as a policy of impoverishment, does not want to invest in Gurage. This has been a tradition of the Ethiopian governments since Menelick annexed it. It could have been started as a revenge, as a punishment for resisting Menelick. Then, it became the policies of successive governments after him. Token Gurage high officials in Ethiopia did not change this policy.
If Gurages would invest in Gurage and start dev projects, then Gurage youth would have no reason to leave thier parents, village and travel outside of Gurage in search of employment.
I doubt very much Ethiopia will invest and develop Gurage. Never.
Geez scripts may not be the best for Gurage because we live surrounded by Cushitic languages who use Latin scripts and our language shares many cushitic words and grammer.
But use of Geez scripts testifies our friendliness to Amara, the numerous and powerhouse of Ethiopia; I don't think we care to be seen friendly or not by Tigrays.
