My mom had ጊመ in real time. Young girls used to have very decorated ones with a bottom space for [deleted] for their hair. Some even placed some bead like ornament arround its narrow neck. I am not sure if they retired it but when I was a child ሙሽሪት used to have one when they get married. Older ladies used to have a bigger wider one. I was always amazed by how they place their neck on it and sleep. Well ladies use so thin heeled shoes because they have one of the best balance system compared to men.
Interestingly the Gurage have many cultural beautiful wares I have not seen in many places in ethiopia.
