Abichunomics seems to get an audience to the tune of 10.5billion dollars. Hitherto, the National Bank could borrow on its own long earned credibility; alas all NBs power has now been eroded to be considered a credible guarantor of resources.
Case in point is the outright violation of the Banks instructions to hold back large government expenditure inorder to curtail inflation. Within weeks of NBs declaration, Abiy launched his massive addis gentrification project which will have dual inflationary impact. First when the excess money is plowed into circulation, second when the newly built housing price quadruples an already out-of-reach rental market.
