When an ascari wants to make an Ethiopian friend whats in his mind is shiro and berbere that the Ethiopian will give him or her. Those days are long gone.
The shiros and berberes at the stores are not real
Again - an ascari will only approach Ethiopian thinking about how he will take things from him. But nowadays no Ethiopians want ascaris near them

I differ to agree. Eritreans are proud people who fought with teeth and fist to be independent nation and got it. We have to respect them and demand them respect in return. If we wish to establish a working relationship both ways we need to stop condescending one another. We should do better.
Having said that, it is african culture to pack to many flight bags full of condiments and traditional food wherever we migrate or travel for a while. Some even pack cutlery. I saw a chinese friend who came to study in London bringing from china a rice cooker and pork crushing huge knife!
African family has not reached a nuclear family stage. People pack TV sets, Laptops, old cars and a shelf full of Macy garments when they go back to home country. Some of us hate that. It is not eritrean, ethiopian …thing! All people from developing country including Africa or asia do it. Nothing special!

Calm down! It does not matter which way people take goods. To their country or back. It is still not exceptional to eritreans. I don’t care if you label me eritrean for speaking the right thing. I am not eritrean. Even if they do what you said, that is their right. Flinging an insult between eritreans and Ethiopians serves no purpose. Tamper your propaganda and emotion too! Fano or Amara will not benefit from your braggadocio like the tigrians intoxicated and killed themselves with it. You just serve people to flee to the wrong political direction! If we keep on bashing one another, the region and everybody will not escape the quagmire.
