But it seems the oldie has lost already by a knockout (during yesterday's televised debate), can someone more familiar with the issue update us briefly here?

DDT, you got it wrong. He was not beaten by a knockout. He froze, and it seemed, he was unable to use his brain for the better part of the first half debate.
Trump has said several things that could be proven wrong by any Democrat who was alive for the last eight years. Yes, the Democrats— I do not think — has choice, but to stick with him. I have read that several prominent Democrats were asking him to abandon his ambition graciously, yours truly however do not see that coming. Does yesterday debate dramatically change the election outcome ? I very much doubt. The American politics have been tribal for sometime. The Biden and Trump loyalists stay where they are no matter what. It is the independents who move their support one way or the other based on performance. We will see what impact the debate might have on them in coming weeks.

DDT,

You are such a hypocrite badmouthing about Joe Biden, while you are non-stop praising Abiy Ahmed who sÙcking the life and blood of the country. Not all democrats are happy about him, they are calling to replace him with another candidate. Can you imagine how much citizen are how much empowered to change the candidate even at last minute - just like changing players in the soccer field.

The question is not about Biden or Trump, those Ethiopians and Africans alike should take away the lesson that citizens have the ultimate power. When a leader becomes thug, the tradition in Africa, he/she will be greeted with rocking war.

In any case, it is not just alone Biden there are double "haters" - that means not happy about either of the candidate. I do not know if both candidates would be replaced. Who is going to replace Abiy Ahmed on the 11th hours - by the way.

Someone who can't put on his own jacket properly shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of something as vital as world security, a very risky business.

Aberu,

me hypocrite?

How many times should I repeat myself before you can finally grasp what is at stake here?

You can never escape the generational trap of Ethiopian students of copy & paste. You see something in remote and suddenly think about how to copy it to local situations. This is a curse, in my view. It made us pay heavily!

America can possibly change its leaders at any moment and still afford to sustain itself, probably without much side effects to its setup. That doesn't mean Ethiopia can also withstand such a situation. Ethiopia could afford anything but instability at this moment of its long history. Instabile Ethiopia will automatically lead to an instabile HoA region, like it or not. Avoiding instability should be the top priority of the nation at the moment.

To ensure for a lasting stability in the country there should be some sort of pre-agreed on mechanism of transfer of power, among others. That mechanism shouldn't also include raising one's guns and chasing out those currently in office and place oneself there. This is a vicious cycle that brought us where we are today.

Why should I repeat the same thing and expect a different thing this time around?`That is a sign of insanity, if nothing else.

Anyone can be in the office as far as that body tried to adhere on the pre-agreed on rule of the game and tries to remedy the problems we already in.

We may not have yet a bullet proof mechanism but we should try to build it piece by piece and reach there down the road.

As far as that principle is upheld anybody can be at the helm of state power in the country, be that an Oromo, Amhara, Tigre, Guraghe, Somali, or any of the more than 80 or so different groupings. The crap claim of we are the first class Ethiopians and the rest are our inferiors should also end with the current Amhara extremists, who have primarily brought a ruin to the Amhara people themselves by that claim. Draw your lesson, if you want to move an inch forward.

We shouldn't control who is in power but the way that body comes to power, as far as I am concerned.

At the core of Ethiopia's current problem is that the nation couldn't feed itself enough and has to beg for external handouts. This should stop ASAP. We can't have both ways, on one side claiming we are proud nation and at the same time turn around and beg others for help. It has to stop!

If you care about Ethiopia and its proud history then you have to also feel embarrassed about it, when the likes of Shabos' puppies name call us like a symbol of hunger, practically.

It is painful to me to see somebody as Shabos trying to disparage my people in such a way and that era should end with my generation and the generations coming after me should regain their true dignity back. If you care about Ethiopia. But you are a certain power hungry mole who puts that ambition over anything else. I am ashamed of your likes.

If you are not yet ready to put the interest of the nation over that of your sectarian ones, then you can go to hell, I care less and I will keep defending Ethiopia with all of its constituents.

Gabito? I doubt though.

I think you meant supporting and protecting Abiy Ahmed power from being criticized. You're blocking and stagnating political improvements to the Ethiopian people. This is disservice to Ethiopia. Stop fear mongering as well for the good of your people.

DDT ,

These two somehow got my attention:

“Instable Ethiopia will automatically lead to an instable HoA region, like it or not. Avoiding instability should be the top priority of the nation at the moment.” DDT

First, who told you so? Why is this the single most responsibility and ignore her priority of being a sovereign country. When is “country first” becomes the sacred motto of citizens, leaders and cadres. Why the hell Ethiopia should be shooting herself in the foot taking orders to take Western created tiny squatter states first and herself second. Is this not the decades’ old mercenary role of Woyane and OLF. You are simply parroting the same monotonic misoriented rhetoric. HoA is a Frenji created concept. There is no sh!t called HoA, it is all about Ethiopia. When Ethiopia becomes stable everyone will be so. That is possible by removing the rebel thugs of OLF and TPLF – not keeping these instruments of foreign countries. What worse could happen to the country than what already happened? The country seen every ugly and horrific thing that potential could happen under the sky. What could the country lose by eliminating OLF and TPLF. The country will not lose anything by removing these, but certainly earn peace, reconciliation, acceptable form of government, order of law, standard and legit constitution.

“pre-agreed on mechanism of transfer of power, among others.” DDT

. You really think people are as stupid as you believed so? There has never been a consensus governance structure and constitution. What is existing is an installed rebel group by-law which serves the interests of two rebels: Woyane and OLF. Have you ever heard of an American President say Joe Biden, appoint as he likes the governor of the state (Region/Kilil) of Texas, Florida? I hope you will not make a lie. But, Abiy Ahmed who was elected by 500 people from a town of Beshasha inhabited by 500 people, appointed at least 5 times five different governor (President) for Amhara Region. So, this is your so-called “Pre-agreed” mechanism. Amhara people never accepted rebels Woyane and OLF by-law. They do not have a pre-agreed framework. Stop this fraud and accept the reality. The country will be stuck in a permanent war unless OLF and Woyane thugs accept the reality – the enemy of Ethiopia loves this situation the most. That is why they pretend to be the steward of peace deal, door backing Amhara. But Amhar will continue shutting OLF/Woyane arse for they f!lrt in a wrong bed with wrong fellows.

This dement admitted his open interference in the affairs of other sovereign states of the world by openly claiming "I run the world" and I would like to ask the dement and his enablers about how they got the mandate to run the affairs of others?

This is a revelation of what we have been saying all along from the actor himself.

DDT,

You are fool. The U.S. can change the person in the drivers seat, but it will never stop doing what it should be doing. That means the succeeding driver drives in the same lane as adopted as by the preceding driver. Your whining here sounds to me a poor man wish of counting days "When today goes away, tomorrow will have better day" . That poor man forgets the fact that what he is doing determines the outcome of tomorrow. Tomorrow starts today - he only factors in "time/day of the year" in the equation for the determination of his future, removed himself out of it. In short, I know you are crying for Abiy Ahmed. But Abiy Ahmed is the worst enemy of himself - he has no other enemy than himself. Where has "No More sh!t gone"? Who stopped it? How many days/nights were he fl!rted with Mike Hammer in Pretoria?

Shoe-shining is not as such a bad profession but when that is done for only the white man, then it is an epitome low life!

You are making an empty whining. What would be in store for Ethiopia if either Biden re-elected or Trump elected? You have to answer that, first.

"No More" is not for your likes. It is a timeless motto of those freedom valuing citizens around the world. They know what it means to them. Not people like you who are good at shining the shoes of others, tirelessly generation after generation.

I am not supporting this or the other political party but specifically against the policy of some sections of the declining US-empire. It has hurt my people and I have the right to express my pains, no matter who is coming to power over there.

They have their interest and I have my own, the bottom line.

The Amharic saying 50 ቢታለብ ያው በገሌ ነው እንዳለችው ድመት።> has its equivalent in the rich Afan Oromo as well "ሸንስ ሔልመን፣ ሸንተመስ ሔልመን፣ ኮ ቅጫን ቅራጭዹመ፣ ጄቴ አዱሬን" ይበላል።

But in this case it has no bearing, Ethiopians have risen up and decided to take their own fate into their own hands, only sleepy like you are expecting their "fortunes" from somebody else. We will see what Gedu Andargachew will bring in hereby.

Was not it under Trump who allged to have said " Blow that damn dam, that is Aby Dam", Was not Trump alleged to have called African countries "sh!thole", or are you supporting him because he openly said " He gave the Nobel Peace Prize to Abiy Ahemd", which soon Abiy became the equivalence of Adolhp Hitler ( who also was a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize".

__ You are a welfare freeloader, you will elect democrat, but you are pretending as if you would not elect Biden. For me it does not make any difference between the two. One thing is very true, violence has no place in American politics. That is how America is unique from the rest of the world. Since recent time, the January 6 mob and now this criminal trying to assassinate the presumptive presidential candidate is not a good face for the world. This sort of thuggish actions are typical of third world sh!thole countries where violence has been an established norm - because third world countries do not elect their leader. If there were an election it has been 100% fake and rigged. But in America, people directly elect their president and governor - every 4 years they have the right to choose who their next leader should be. Sadly, 3rd world poor countries their leaders are elected by violence and gun. Example, Ethiopia. Ethiopia right now does not have a government it is run by either military junta or a rebel chief.
