These people persist in displaying Neanderthal-like behavior, which is contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic faith. I have doubts about their practice of Islam and I believe that the majority of them follow a unique religion called Bootyism.

Almaz, it is culture. Islamic identity and values is imposed on Somalis very recently. While they adopt Islam, their traditional culture and value is intact. in short, culture is identity and identity cannot go out of the window easily.

Jimmy, I appreciate your useful insights. Your statement is correct. I learned that Somalis belong to the Bantu ethnic group. This video digs deeply into the Somali people's historical origins, tracing their ancestry back to Niger, Tanzania, and Malawi. They may have some Nigerian ancestry as well.

That is correct. The main stream narrative on the genealogy of Somalis if you ask them is that three Arab gentlemen cross the see from the Arabia and preached Islam. These three gentlemen are Isaac, Darood and Hawiye. They then intermarry locals and created the Somali population. Isaac population now live in Somaliland, Ethiopia and Djibouti. Darood lives in Ethiopia (Ogaden), puntland and Somalia. And Hawiye lives in Somalia and Kenya.
Based on the above oral tradition of somalis, you can imagine how many local women these gentlemen lined up and $hag them every hour and every day to create the somali populations and clans. I call these gentlemen early arabian p0rnstars.
In addition to minor arab influx portuguese and indian dravidian sailors have a huge foot print in somalia. You may see dark european look alike and indian look alike somalis these days as a result of the mix. So somalis base is bantu but the got quite a lot of ad mixtures here and there

For your information , there are actually millions of real Bantus in Somalia. the Bantus intermarried all other minorities , the Portuguese, arabs etc. all these groups actually dominate the most important regions (rivers , and coastal cities) in Somalia including Mogadishu. Most Somali camel herders left the country or turned into militias . The bantus and their associates , just farm or produce their stuff , and they fffuuuk all day. Very few of them left the country or die in conflicts. The only Bantu militias are the ones in alshabaab. NIIKO is popular in southern Somalia , than eskista is in Ethiopia.
If you want know the real identity of Somalis , look no further than the Oromos. We are what they are . They are less exposed to the outside world , but we look exactly the same. Just like many other Muslims , major Somali clans claim that they are direct decedents of the prophet and his companions. This is obviously a myth propagated by the Suffi sunnis , but at the same time it's true some Arab preachers and South Asian merchants left their seed in Somalia.

Factually incorrect. Offshoot of the Bantus and Nilots, that's correct or close to the truth.
The Asian influx to these indigeous people present day Somalia overwhelmed their cultures and languages. There may have migrants from the darker Tamil Nado regions of Southern India and Sri Lanka. Some Somalis exhibit their features. My high school director was dark as any Tamil with wavy hair. Yet, he spoke Somali, a language derived from mix of Arabic and indigenous Bantu and Nilotic languages and their various dialects.
Arabs who settled later than South Indians in Somalia erased the South Indian influence and replaced it with their own in a long and gradual process of time and space. Looking at a Smali person, you see both Arabic(late comer) cultural and linguistic influences and physical markers of South Indian and SriLankan Tamil.
In Ethiopia, Sudan, Eritrea, Mauritania and Spanish Sahara, you South Arabia physical and linguistic influences with local variations. No South Indian and Sri Lankan influences of any type; I mean no physical, cultural or linguistic influences.

Somalis have no connection to Bantus. They are indigenous Hamites, albeit with significant Eurasian admixture originating from the Levant. It is believed that these Levantines originated in the Horn of Africa, particularly in the Somali Peninsula, before migrating back to the Levant. While proto-Nilotes once inhabited the Somali Peninsula, they were largely displaced by the Somali Hamites, pushing them further into Kenya.
The Arab conquest of Somalia was minimal, with some Arab tribes settling in Djibouti, Zeila, Barawa, and Mogadishu, but this accounts for less than 10 percent of the population and occurred in the last millennium. In contrast, the Habesha, particularly the Amhara and Gurage, exhibit a more significant Bantu or Nilotic admixture, as evidenced by their hair texture, which resembles that of the Bantus. This genetic influence cannot be erased in a few generations.

Of course, Somalia consisted of Bantu population - which are native of this geographic area of Africa. If Somalia share the same Bantu origin as Kenya, Uganda, Congo. The endogenous Bantu culture was diluted, at best destroyed, by the settlers from the Arabian Peninsula. It is not uncommon to find that the interbreeds acting more than their progenitor - like the saying goes " More Catholic than the Pope". Somalia tending to disown their true Bantu identity and pretending as if they were alien to Africa, came out of world/extraterrestrial/ 
is funny. 100% guaranteed, Somalians are Bantu - and Should be proud of that. Look the Bantu group in Kenya, Uganda, South Africa are more educated, innovative and entrepreneurs. There are more South Africans in white gown ( medical Doctors) than Somalia - half of their humanity ( I mean women) are walking with Burqa than in dressed in white gown, achieving the most prestigious job of being a doctor.
