We Eritreans would rather see a prosperous nation next door than a heavily indebted poor country that measures its economic status by how many of its neighboring countries it invaded to earn its daily bread.

well, Ethiopia is doing this without any petroleum or other extractive income and in the midst of wars and destruction! Now, imagine what is going to be when peace comes to her people! Very very soon!

This is called lying with statistics. The ranking is of gross domestic product (GDP) and not of per capita domestic product. With 130 million people, it is natural for Ethiopia to have higher GDP than many smaller African countries, but it doesn't mean Ethiopia is a wealthy country. On the contrary, it is one of poorest countries in Africa/
