This outdated scale was drafted by EPRDf with regard to with economic standard at that time, but now everything is changed and the scale is still there. The inflation is skyrocketing and exchange rate is unstable and as a result the people a who want to import items suffered a lot.

Can you imagine that any degree holder can get 3652 birr per month. how can this sustain someone with this meager salary.

In my opinion, the minimum wage should be 10,000 birr.

The sad truth is that Ethiopian civil service should be considered equal but the truth on the ground is different . for example thespian airline pays its servants million birr and parathion commercial bank pays more than 60,000 birr with our deposited money . do you think this is fair? There should be fair treatment for all.

This salary scale is unseen and unbelievable, I don't think even the poorest African countries have such kind of weird scale. After a tax,the civil servants receive very small amount. For example one degree holder has rank of 9(IX) which is 4069 but after tax he will receive 3600 birr. I don't know what to do with this?
