And Martyrdom is when you have sacrificed yourself in defense of the country, not for the internal power-struggle as a rebel force.
A day will be decided on in Ethiopia to commemorate those who were martyred to defend the country and its sovereignty, while the infamous ግንቦት 20 will be sent to the dust-bin of history. It should be enough for the day, it had already more than its share, while those who were sacrificed in defense of Ethiopia were forgotten for too long.

Will Ethiopia ever honor the fallen martyrs in real terms and not symbolic motives? Those who perished defeating the Weyane were betrayed when Abiy, playing politics, allowed their killers to go free. All the poor soldiers who are now dying in Amhara region, for no reason at all, may already be forgotten. Does the ENDF keep a record of their names and date of death? Does the government support their families? Abiy stated the war in Ahmhara last year and is now singing the song of peace. Shouldn't he be held accountable for this crime? There is no accountability for the blunders of Ethiopian leaders. So what is the good of having a Martyrs' Day in a country that doesnot do anything for the martyrs?

So, is the idea an established and settled one or is it up for debate in Ethiopia?
በልፋት ቆማ በልፋት የፀናች ሃገር ለሃገር የተሰዉትን እንጂ ዉስጧ የቆሰሉትን ሰማዕት ብላ የምትቀባጥር ናት?

ሆሊ ዴይ ወይም “ጉያ ለፈ ኦል” በዓል ቀን ማለት ነዉ። ሃይማኖታዊ ነበር። ኣይዴለም?
ጉያ ዴይ ቢሆን፣ ኦሊ ሆሊ ቢባል ትርጉማቸዉ ኣይቀየርም።
ሰማዕት ሀዘንን ያስታዉሳል። ሀዘን በዓል ቀን መሆን ይችላል?
ለሀዘን ማስታወሻ ሃዉልት ይቀመጣል። በየቀኑ ታይቶ የምያስታዉስ።
የኣሜሪካ የትዉስታ ወይም ሜሞርያል ቀን በዓል ብሎ የምያሳዩት በሃገራቸዉ አፈር ላይ ለሃገራቸዉ የተሰዉትን ሳይሆን ሌላ ሃገር ዉስጥ ጦርነት ላይ የተሸነፉትን ነዉ። ናዚን የተዋጉትንም፣ ቬትናም የተወጉትንም ደባልቀዉ።
