Professor Mesfin Weldemariam - All his life he told us he is Yejju and Shoa. But on his death bed he confessed he is from enticho Tigray.

Andargachew Tsige - All his life he let people assume that he is Amhara. He even wrote a book የአማራ ሕዝብ ትግል ከየት ወደ የት። when OPDO took power, he said Menilik took the land of my Oromo grandfather. He went anti Amhara till Abiy sends him out.

Neamin Zeleqe.- claimed he was half Amhara. But we learnt that he is tulama Oromo.

Temesgen Tiruneh - used the Amhara card. But he is half Agew and half Oromo.

Demeke Mekonnen - played the Amhara card all along but he is Kemise Oromo.

Tamitat Layne - again an Agew and Gurages mix

Most of Amhara region officials are either Agew, Kmant or half Oromo half Tigre...etc.

The pattern is that these type of people are hard to notice but deadly enemies of Amhara because they operate in a stealth manner. Luckily, the Amhara Nationalism weed organically weed them out so that they don't confuse. The reason these folks oppose Amhara nationalism this is for the obvious reason. They can't penetrate Tigray or Oromo nationalism. But they were able to get red carpet treatment in Amhara. But that is more

So, here is my view: whoever they may be, let's focus on their politics. Identifying and exposing them as turncoats is acceptable, even bringing up their national background if that is one of the reasons we believe that they are behaving the way they do. However, the number of multinational Ethiopians is substantial and resourceful, and they don't harbor any anti-Amhara feelings at all. I argue that they will support the Amhara cause since the cause of Amhara is just. Additionally, most of these multinational individuals with mixed heritage are well-acquainted with Amhara culture and have experienced the same kind of discrimination because of their Amhara acculturation. So recognizing that asset, not to exploit it but to create a bridge with other Ethiopians, is important. Blanket statements about Ethiopians of mixed heritage don't help the Amhara cause.

Excellent analysis. The key to Ethiopia’s progress is getting rid of ethnic divisions and its ideology. It seems difficult but it is not. It will only takes one generation.
The good place to start is getting rid of those opportunistic guys Misraq has listed above. It is their opportunistic character that we should fight but not their ethnicity that absolutely is irrelevant. Let us teach our children that humanity and its natural freedom as an individual is above everything else the rest are just labels that can be dangerous if manipulated.

It is already a pattern that these people I mentioned deliberately hold the people of Amhara to continue with the Ethiopianist ideology at the expense of forgetting and abandoning being Amhara knowing fully at the same time that Ethiopianist ideology exposed Amharas only to attacks and hates in all the communities of Eastern Africa. The question is why Amharas only should adopt Ethiopianist ideology? Why not the rest? The bar should be the same for all.

You make a valid point here. In the calculations of both Weyanne and OLF, it's evident they exploit Ethiopian ideology to gain undue advantages in two distinct ways. Firstly, they wield significant influence at almost every level of the federal government and exercise complete control within their respective kellils, effectively setting policy agendas for all Ethiopians. Meanwhile, they frequently resort to portraying themselves as perpetual victims to leverage advantages at the expense of Amharas and Ethiopianst since they categorize both the same..

Meanwhile, the Amharas often adopt an appeasement approach, fearing that any forceful resistance to this injustice might lead to the breakup of Ethiopia. The 1960s, Marxist ideologues like Brehanu and Andargachew propagated the notion that Amharas represented the dominant class, implying that anyone claiming to be "oppressed" could rightfully seize whatever Amharas possessed including their history . The widespread poverty in the Amhara region stands as a testament to this despicable policy that ravaged the region all its potentials and despite the hard work ethic and the fertile land and water resources in the region.

It's imperative to reverse policies that put Amharas at a disadvantage. Amharas should prioritize their interests first while remaining firmly committed to justice for all and the unity of Ethiopia. In an ideal world, the politics of citizenship, rightfully and justly implemented, is the best, as it allows both individuals and communities to fully exercise their rights. However, given the reality of entrenched ethnic politics, the second-best policy is to have a just and equal dispensation of power based on the demography and fair representation in all part of Ethiopia. Amharas will fair out much better in that kind of system .
