The Tigrayans didnt sign of anything the EPLF held Addis Ababa and held the TPLF and kept them alive in Addis Ababa . the Tigrayans even if they opposed Eritrean independence there was no way for them to oppose anything since they didnt have any sort of leverage . in other words they had no choice they were held at gun point to sing of the Eritrean referendum on independence. The thing is one could say Eritreans singed it themselves just they were on the side of Ethiopia
