It is not strange, there are many Eritrean villages and towns named after Ethiopian villages and towns and vice versa, as there are many people who share the same first names and family names. Tigrayan villages are left out because, there are hundreds of Tigrayan and Eritrean villages with the same name.
Here are few examples. Some names may be have changed slightly after distance and linguistic differences. Here are some:

Forget Eritrea, you ugums publicly told us that you were the first who explored america prior to Columbus. Hence, why do I fail to see names such as adi-washington, adi-Seattle, adi-atlanta etc..in uncle sam's land...Just pondeing on.
