If selamina has a good intention for Amara he would have accepted Halafis initiation to forge peace and cooperat with Amara. Halafi basically said he wants Tigreans to work with FANO and that made selamina frustrated.

1. The cooperation of Amara and Tigray makes "selam" feel inferior, because if the cooperation exceeds it will dominate the Ethiopian politics and both people will be beneficial of the peace. That makes him wrongfully worry due to his inferiority complex. So he attacks Halafi

2. He is still not sure if FANO will win so he wants to indirectly save abiy without burning his bridge with Amara, and by attacking Halafi he is preventing any attempt to unite Amara and Tigray. A typical witaf neqay

3. Amara being organized just like the rest of nations and nationalities makes him extremely worry. This is primarily due to his inferiority complex. He wrongfully feels a strong Amara will undermine him. He needs to understand if Amara is not free the the small nationalities will soon be swallowed completely.
