I'm so glad that we Eritreans left the fake empire before it implodes. I feel sorry for the people forced to remain in the fake union against their will. Their struggle to free themselves from Neo-colonization and its local enablers will make the Balkanization of Yugoslavia a child's play in comparison.
Just keepin' it real here. If you don't like the truth, then FU!

Honestly, brother, Fiyameta,
I couldn't care less about if the Ethiopian regimes kept on telling lies, which has been the trademark of Ethiopian leaders. As you correctly stated, all Ethiopian leaders have been willing servants of the Ferenjis, including the Portuguese, the English, most of the EU countries, and the Americans. That is how they were, and continue to be what they are. No problem there if they want to sell their human dignity.
The problem I see is, however, forgetting their alm-dependent history, they keep on bragging, left and right, that they have been free from colonization when the fake present-day Ethiopian boundaries were created by colonization! As PM Abiy has recently kept on reminding us, (thank you Dr. Plugeration Waterman), they falsely keep on repeating the narrative that Ethiopia has never initiated a war and that it has never been defeated in any war.
Wink! Wink! When your coward emperor, along with his family members, fled Ethiopia, it was not because he had some joyful occasion to attend but to save his àss. After the Italians occupied Ethiopia for 5 years, the Allied forces made them abandon their colony for Italy was part of the defeated Axis forces.
Wink! Wink! In 1977, the Somali troops were marching in the heart of Mengistu's Ethiopia when the Soviet Union called on the Cubans, Libyans, Yemenis, and the MPLA government of Angola to intervene militarily while the USSR supplied the war machines against a poorly armed Said Bareh-led Somalia, to save the Mengistu-led Ethiopia. Come on! Don't run from reality, and accept the simple truth!
Wink! Wink! After single-handedly fighting the internationally supported Ethiopian Army for 30 long years, finally, the EPLF fighters defeated the largest army in Sub-Saharan Africa into submission and made Eritrea free on May 24, 1991! No! No! No! Just accept the facts, for no one can hide them.
While it has come to be the norm that the usual denial of frequent drought, and misery by all Ethiopian regimes, the boastful PM Abiy Ahmed, dared to export some cereals abroad while parts of the country were suffering from drought and civil war-induced starvation.
Never mind about the clear contradiction there, why would a sane government that cares about its people even think about exporting food abroad when a significant percent of the populace has been seeking some food aid if they were lucky? Was it wise for our dear leader to ship cereals to foreign countries when a significant portion of the country he rules is suffering from natural and man-made disasters?
But, I suppose, that wouldn't be the "Ethiopia of 3,000 years" if its rulers and some of their gullible citizens blindly believe in a non-existent "History" - for it is based on ጽውጽዋይ aka ተረት! ተረት!

97% of foreign-aid and 3% of nothing. That's like when someone trips and falls in public, in an attempt not to feel embarrassed, they add 3% more moves to make the 97% fall look like a deliberate act of acrobatic performance.

AbyssiniaLady,
Lovely music. I believe there is a town called Alaba in gurage region. An Eritrean electrician was working there during the derg era.
Is there any difference between halaba and alaba? The Eritrean friend told us that the people of Alaba are gurage.
Is that right?

The dirty pickpocket Gurage listro and Halaba people have nothing in common, they are two different ethnic groups with no common culture and language, Halaba are God-fearing muslim people who have a good culture and a long history.
The dirty Gurage listro, on the other hand, are cultureless and historyless, the overwhelming majority of them are uneducated thieves and prostitutes and nearly 90 percent of hômôsêxual/male sex workers/prostitutes in Addis Ababa are Gurage listro men and children.
Alaba is an alternate spelling of the name Halaba, (Halaba people).

Okay, let that be good, and we claim Shabo won in 1991 for a while, at the same time we can also never deny that it is consistently being defeated ever since 1991. Yow draw the balance!
This is an objective assessment! Swallow it.

Leave the great Ethiopians to settle their minor difference and mind your own business. We support Eritrean independence as we have celebrated the independence ceremony at the time for leaving Mamma Ethiopia. But then again does leaving mamma Ethiopia the beautiful means for becoming the object and target of organ harvesting networks because a person is just a dead person after being robbed of his/her vital organs.
