Tigray Diaspora Protest against TPLF

TPLF is facing strong opposition from within Tigray/ Ethiopia and diaspora community.

I have tried following up on this and Pretoria has exposed TPLF to intense opposition, especially from the intelligentsia, opposition party leaders, war veterans etc etc. TPLF lost its standing when it let Abiy pick President for Tigray. People couldn’t stomach such direct rule. People’s respect for TPLF evaporated overnight.

Some have argued the non ending squabbling between the Dexi group and Getch group is getting too petty - to the point of people starting to have lack of confidence

Others argue social media and increased access has intensified scrutiny of TPLF leadership which is paralyzing the decision making process

There is talk of corruption being rampant and there’s moral crisis reflected in theft of food aid and diaspora donations

People are catching up and conscious enough to look for fresh leadership

Another point I wanted to make but forgot:

I was talking to this guy who talks to an insider and his view is that today’s TPLF paralysis has its origins during the post Badme war split. Those behind Dexi are influenced by the group that had sided with Meles group, and those with Getch group today are supported by the other (Seye, Gen. Tsadqan)

The two sides are hence re-fighting an old fight. In the meantime, conditions are not getting better for the average Joe which is upsetting the diaspora who is disgusted by the leaders that are focusing on their power struggle than the betterment of people.

The bogyman "Amhara" is gone for TPLF to keep Tigrayans on their toa. Tigrayans just started the journey Eritreans went through after 2002. Now they started to look inwards and just learnt that they have a lot of mess. I would say, enjoy the ride and it is a journey that you have to go through. You might start to sell your kidneys like the ascari Skunnis were doing on their way to Libya. If The tigrayans are smart, they need to unlearn all the hate TPLF thought them about Amhara in particular and Ethiopia in general.
