Somalia Rejects It

Somalia has rejected a call by Ethiopia for a meeting to discuss ways of resolving the ongoing row between them.
Somalia has also dismissed calls by the African Union Peace and Security Council for dialogue with Ethiopia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it would not be a party to mediation; it did not violate any principles of international law, and instead, it was itself violated by Ethiopia when it signed the MoU with Somaliland.
“For that reason, there is no space for mediation unless Ethiopia retracts its illegal MoU and reaffirms the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia,’ the statement read in part.
