Somaliland said Ethiopia had agreed to grant official recognition in return for a 50-year lease of a stretch of coastline,
Ethiopia said it had only agreed to “make an in-depth assessment towards taking a position regarding the efforts of Somaliland to gain recognition".
Ethiopia insists they did not agree to recognise Somaliland,

Well thats good i doubt our brothers in Hargeisa will give their sea to Ethiopia for a share of Ethiopian airlines thats just absurd. Its good that Ethiopia refuses to recognise Somaliland. This is good development for the rest of Somalis. I know the Sepratists in Hargeisa are obsessed with recogntion i am 100 percent positive it wont work they will decline the offer from Ethiopia. I have had a talk with a diplomat from Hargeisa that the Hargeisa government declined a chinese investment of 500 million dollars. The only thing they had to do was drop Taiwan they refused. So why would they take a share of Ethiopian airlines and then jeopardise the very idea of Ethiopian annexation of the northern seas.
Memorandum of Misunderstanding indeed i like that.
