But modern-day Ethiopia is famously landlocked

DTT, As they say, the worst deception is self-deception. And you are now busy deceiving yourself. Everyone has told the moron Abiy to respect Somalia's Sovereignty. It will fun to watch how Abiy, the Agame of Oromia, will try to extricate himself from the hole he dug for himself.
Ethiopian Somalis have rejected his idiotic design on Somalia.

"Famously landlocked" is a prestigious title of honor bestowed upon a country that is naturally, genuinely, unconditionally and unquestionably landlocked by the grace of God from the beginning of the world.
