Why Switzerland never takes sides
Back in the Middle Ages, the Swiss were very good at winning wars. So good that they turned it into a thriving business. “Basically [mercenary service] was due to economic reasons,” said Laurent Goetschel, professor of political science at University of Basel and director of the research institute Swisspeace. “[The old Swiss confederacy] was a very poor country – it was not suitable for large-scale farming and it had no access to colonial resources and no sea access, so being mercenaries was just a source of income.”
And the Swiss were reliable winners, so it continued to be a good source of income – until they lost. The reckoning came at the Battle of Marignano in 1515 when the French and Venetians arrived with artillery and armoured cavalry, and the Swiss brought pikes and spears. Sadly, technology had passed them by.
“After that defeat, they realised they were good soldiers in their way but halberds are not much good against artillery,” Church said. “They then stepped back from getting involved in Europe’s major political things.” Instead, the Swiss rented themselves out almost exclusively to France, which kept them in the black and also solved the inconvenience of occasionally finding themselves on two sides of the same battle. “It didn’t happen all the time but when it did happen, it was extraordinarily worrying and encouraged moves to neutrality,” Church said.
During this time, it became clear that the Swiss had fought too many wars on too many sides to be able to safely pick one for the long haul, especially when all the big powers wanted Switzerland for themselves because of the country’s strategic location guarding the Alps. So when the Congress of Vienna met in 1814–15 to sort out European peace after the French Revolutionary War (during which the Swiss had continued to serve as hired bodyguards for the French monarchy, including the last king, Louis XVI) and the Napoleonic Wars (during which the French invaded Switzerland and broke up the old confederacy), the Swiss put forth an elegant win-win solution for the whole continent: let us be neutral. This validation was key. As Goetschel points out, “Neutrality only makes sense if the other powers recognise you.”
Since then, Switzerland has basically been the non-partisan state we’ve all come to know. Stop by the statue of Charles Pictet de Rochemont to say thanks next time you’re in Geneva; he’s the soldier-[deleted]-diplomat who personally wrote the Swiss declaration of neutrality ratified by the Vienna Congress.
But then the World Wars happened, and that reputation was sorely tested, especially during WWII when Switzerland controversially bought Jewish gold from Nazi Germany and refused Jewish refugees. “From a Swiss perspective, [neutrality] was successful in so far as Switzerland wasn’t involved in fighting,” Goestchel explained. “There have been many debates if Switzerland was really neutral, especially in WWII, but it wasn’t involved in fighting activities.”

While I agree with your reasoning (land-locked nations can prosper), there's many differences, such as:
1) Ethiopia was created to serve 'their' interests in the Horn. Thus, before they allow it to be a middle income nation, they'll fund rebels to keep it in a constant state of war.
2)
https://bansarchina.com/largest-switzerland-port/ They have river ports, we do not (although I wonder how much it'd cost to develop them and how?), and their neighbors are cooperative and do not block their access to the sea?
3) They're European, by that virtue alone, they'll never worry about a deliberate plan to keep them downtrodden and poor, unlike Africa where that plan has been in effect for quite a while...

When NATO invaded Libya and assassinated brother leader Qaddafi to bring the oil-rich African nation under Neo-colonization, China had 36,000 engineers in Libya working on $18 billion worth of projects, largely consisting of railroad and oil contracts. The invasion had cost China billions of dollars, forced to evacuate its engineers, and effectively ended its contracts.
The port of Djibouti is currently being operated by China due to Djibouti's inability to pay its debt to China. This means, Ethiopia is paying China to use Djibouti's port services. Ethiopia also has an estimated $14 billion dollar debt to China, much of it for building the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway.
This is the part that is difficult to understand. NATO has never built anything in either Ethiopia or Djibouti, but it wants China out of Djibouti. The country slated to do the job is the heavily indebted Ethiopia that has benefited from China's developmental projects.
Unfortunately, backstabbing China has become a popular sport among the ungrateful bunch occupying Arat Kilo who neither know national interest nor economic development.

Switzerland's economic success that has made it one of the top 10 economies in the world, is mainly attributed to its abandonment of mercenary services in favor of neutrality. The Swiss established the largest humanitarian organization in the world: The Red Cross, and became the guarantors of the the Geneva convention in 1864.
Ethiopia, too, had many golden opportunities to achieve what the Swiss people have achieved, but removing the shackles of Neo-colonialism has proven difficult for Ethiopia due to its successive regimes engaged in mercenary services at the expense of economic development and stability. We are a people waiting for Moses to lead us out of debt bondage and into economic independence.

Incorrigible: (adjective) Nations that never learn from their mistakes.
The Swiss are not incorrigible.

Ethiopia for sure will have access to the sea. No question about it! Who is going to stop us if we want to?
Now, even if were to use others ports, it will never be Eritrea with this attitude of yours! It will be Sudan, Djibouti, Somali and Kenya
As simple as that!

The simple answer is that the Switzerland people have an IQ equal or a little less than the Eritreans but you the Ethiopians have the lowest IQ in the world.
You dumb as’ses love to shoot your own ugly feet while in a process shoot us your neighbors feet with your shrapnels.
Well you can keep on going all the way to South Africa to find ‘free lunch’ but it ain’t happening specially in Eritrea.
When your sh’it hit the fun and you realized that you might need to use Eritrean ports, in advance, you will be asked to pay the 100ds of billions of dollars you owe us for using our ports for over 40 years for free.
So, you might as well keep on begging or searching ports in Mongolia, Haiti or Jiffy for all we care.
Soon you will learn how to respect your neighbors, now that you yet again start to destabilize your neighbors Somalia and Sudan.
Learning from what Eritrea did you didn’t get in your quenti filled brains that you are acting like neighborhood hooligans.
You are stupid to not figure out that you will gain more from your neighbors than your neighbors can get from your 120 million rats, while respecting them.

Ethiopian leaders and their hallucinators better stop drooling over our (Eritrean) resources for it won't change the reality on the ground of ምድረ ባሕሪ። ኣስጦብያ never had a port except for the short 40 years, in which Ethiopia forcefully occupied Eritrea including the 10 years of the UN-mandated so-called "Federation". That is a fact no amount of whining and crying can change that!

Swiss neutrality is one of the main principles of Switzerland's foreign policy which dictates that Switzerland is not to be involved in armed or political conflicts between other states. This policy is self-imposed and designed to ensure external security and promote peace.
Unlike Ethiopia that is ruled by foreigners such as Susan Rice, Jendayi Frazer, Mike Hammer, Jeffery Feltman, etc, Switzerland is ruled by its own elected leaders that have their country's best interest at heart.

OMG! The Wealth Per Adult for Naturally Landlocked Switzerland (former Mercenary) is $561,900, while it is only $3,085 for Naturally Landlocked Ethiopia, for a difference of $558,815.
People who remain locked in a landlocked mindset are living in cages with the doors wide open.
