It's the political elites for the most part, from all ethnic groups, who benefit from keeping the populace divided. That way, they can rule for a long time and get rich.
Not to say that, there aren't other reasons why we're divided (such as: different views on the countries history, best system of governance, some feel more 'ethiopian' than others, others believe only their ethnic group can rule, others do not want to see oromos language being a working language along with amharic, etc, etc).
A compromise has to be reached; maybe we need to become autonomous states in a loosely federated-union, something like the EU. Call it the UES, United Ethiopian States. Finfinne can be capital of this union and of Oromia, or we slowly work on establishing another capital city that works for us all, or even have multiple cities.
12 Countries in the world, such as South Africa, have a few capital cities; we could follow their example but adjust it to reflect what Ethiopia needs.
