All it got to do is refuse Ethiopia access to its sea as a jiffy, before the MOU gets hold.
I believe that this venture is not going to materialize. It is illigal. If Ethiopia was honest it could have achieved this venture talking with the greater Somalia country and not with a Somalian regional leadership.
This is like a guy who sells an illegal gun to a criminal and the criminal murders another person. The seller of the illegal gun will also be responsible for the death of the murdered guy along the guy who killed the innocent person.
You can’t sign court documents to lease my home with my neighbor who fooled you that my home belongs to him.
U.S.A had a100 years lease of military base (the first military base in Africa) during sellassie (a walking distance from my home….one amongst many other locations). But when Mengistu ousted the ugly evil cobwebbed feet Hitler of Africa selassaie, Mengistu voided the USA lease of Eritrea and expelled the evil Americans.
So even if the Somaliland lease become fruitful, Somalia in due time (like Eritrea in Badime case) will break the lease leaving Ethiopia dry hopefully Djibouti refuses its ports to Ethiopia now. I mean now. Why does Djibouti cut the Ethiopian boobs which, it been sucking? No brainer, unless Djibouti is stupid like Abiy.
I am 100% certain that this ‘deal’ will never work due to many legal challenges, but Abiy and the gullible, uneducated Ethiopians never learn their lessons and are repeating the same mistakes out of hate of Eritrea which is making their lives more miserable than what meles had in mind to Eritreans.
Remember when meles said that using Assab port is vital to Ethiopia, but Ethiopia using it will also benefit Eritrea and thus he decided to make lives of Eritrean miserable so much so they will kneel down and overthrow their own govt concocting evil with his masters, IGAD, UN, AU,EU and USA…including enticing our youth to flee our country, sanctions which hurt not the govt but the Erit people. He said that his plan was to see our mothers to pick dropped wheat and quenti which we are seeing happening to the funfunat, ungrateful tegarus as we speak, not understanding that we the Eritrean people have dignity, pride and principles and that we are immune to miseries and will come out smelling like freshly cut roses. And yes we did.
Ethiopia never used our ports due to meles (woyane) and Abiy era. Abiy is continuing the same failed principle. And during both leadership Ethiopia not using our ports didn’t affect us a sh’it. We still are standing upright and once we have peace, we can use our ports with many different ventures. After all Eritrea doesn’t have a billion rats to feed.
Ethiopia is the problem in the region. It loves to shoot its ugly feet and in a process shooting its neighbors feet with its own shrapnels.
And finally, besides what I said about Djibouti’s refusal use to Ethiopia using its ports. Somalia also should recognize the Ethiopian Somali region as an independent sovereign nation, rather than waiting and be strong enough to take it by force.
Ethiopia is digging its own grave like woyane.
Keep in mind what we the Eritreas calculated analysis or predict events do is always the end result.

Cigar we cant do that ,, thats inhumane Ethiopia and Djibouti have a deal and the deal signifies that Ethiopia uses our port and they pay for it and the only way we can terminate the contract is if Ethiopia refuses to pay , We are not children lives are at stake cant just block Ethiopia from sea thats irresponsible , we have diplomatic relations with Ethiopia and so far they haven't breached any sort of Deal with Djibouti. Their Issue is With Somalia ,, they are on the verge of recognizing a region of Somalia that wishes to break away from Somalia. So their issue is with Somalia.

Now do we want Ethiopia not to have a sea port and a navy ofcourse yes , we do not want that , its bad for us
How ever the only way we can stop it is by giving Somaliland recognition before Ethiopia does . thats something we can do how ever here is the catch we cannot do that also. because we will for ever then betray Somalia and we cannot do that , its a dilemma , Somalia will never forgive us for doing that if we did that. But we would have saved our selves there.

And the Somalilanders wouldn't need to lease part of their sea to Ethiopia. They could make more money from Ethiopia by port tarrifs and stuff then to give them a sea . And they also know how significant that is. But at the moment they are on another mission which can be difficult for all of us indeed, though i have to say the least affected are the short legged sereyens but then again nothing they do is rational.

Abere, Ethiopian people are the product of their leaders and their successive leaders bad effects of Eritrea of the last 70 years is also their lack of not holding their leaders wrong doings against Eritrea. So yes you might not want to admit it but example of the Ethiopians bad wish on Eritrea is always manifested by the Ethiopians in this form.
So, expecting me not to wish misery to all Ethiopians is parallel to you guys wishing bad for Eritreans. My priority is my people, my country and leadership. I don’t give a crap if Ethiopians fate becomes like the agames.
God know that we tried to be friendly to the Ethiopian people (our govt still is) but you mother fuc’ckers are taking it as weakness. So yes my personal wish is for Ethiopia either to respect Eritrea, or to go to hell.
And who is the mother fu’cker who said we left Ethiopia 32 years ago and I should not be talking about the backward Ethiopia. We didn’t leave Ethiopia because we were Ethiopians you dumb a’ss. You intruded in our domain by the help of your masters and we evicted your as’ses by force. You mentioned lots of points which concern you about Ethiopia about Somalia or Somaliland (I am going to approach you as a Somalian Djiboutian for conversation sake….agame you are). Now if you are Djiboutians how on hell can’t you understand how much billions of dollars Djibouti will lose if Ethiopia uses Somaliland’s sea to use for its imports and exports?
Yes Djibouti can destroy this impossible Somaliland mission today. We all know that even if we to believe this venture is to be fruitful if ever, it is going to take over 10 years. Now if Djibouti acts now and tells Ethiopia that it is not going to let Ethio use it ports which port is Ethiopia gonna use? That action will stop Ethiopia from interfering in another country’s internal affairs or territorial integrity.
If you are Djiboutian, Somalian or Somaliander your allegiance should be with the Niger picture of Somalia….not only that you should also advocate and fight for the return of your stolen Ogaden region.
Ethiopia with all the ethnicity problem it has is not a good home for the Ethiopian Somalis or Djiboutians.
Ethiopia needs all the pressure from all its neighbors either to respect them all or they all should work in designating or destroying it.
No neighbor ever harmed Ethiopia in the past. But it harmed all of us to serve its white masters.
And oh yeah, we all need to advocate to the relocation of the AU out of Ethiopia too. An evil country should not be a seat to the supposedly peaceful but inept AU organization.
