That is exactly what one expects from a low IQ person who doesn't know where he is going. Abiyot must be terrified by the savage response his idiotic prank cause. Abiy's moronic move will probably kill IGAD! The Arab League has condemned the MoU. The USA is expected to issue a negative statement. So the question is: What did Abyot Ali get? It is obvious that he was trying to get Ethiopians to forget all their grievances and stand behind him. This man is an embarrassment and the PP should get rid of him as soon as possible.

(Bloomberg) -- Ethiopia said its deal with Somaliland to gain access to the Red Sea allows the government to make an “in-depth assessment” toward deciding whether it would grant recognition to the breakaway region of Somalia.
Addis Ababa on Wednesday published additional details on X of the memorandum of understanding signed on Jan. 1 with Somaliland. The deal will grant Ethiopia a 50-year lease to establish a naval base and commercial maritime services on the strategically important Gulf of Aden. In exchange, Somaliland gets a stake in Ethiopian Airlines.

The US supported it already which made an official statement via an old ambassador. That is how you know this is a horrible idea that will bring more wars to east Africa!

What Ethiopian needs is to get rid of Abiy Ahimed and his Oromuma PP! Anything less will not fix the problem. You don't repair a house that's falling apart by painting it. Keeping PP to fix the crimes of Abiy Ahimed will amount to painting the house that needs demolition!

Somalis are well connected and live all over the world. They put a lot of pressure on Abiye Ahmed via their many friends. He should have left them alone as Somalia wanted to have good relationship with Ethiopia.

I hope the con artist abiye Ahmed. Backs off from recognising somaliland after the black clash I am also hearing Somalia is going to expell the Ethiopia ambassador in Mogadishu. I hope the gala chimp gets scared and then he backs out from the recognition he promised the Somalilanders. Once the Somalilanders realise that Ethiopia won’t recognise them . It’s game over for abiye they won’t sign of a lease to him. And Ethiopia remains land locked and Djibouti and Somalia will win Ethiopia will lose again

Whether there is Abiy today or tomorrow, it does not matter, Ethiopian politics demands that as long as the Arab nations such as Egypt work hard to destabilize Ethiopia, it is required to be on guard and respond in kind.
Egypt, Turkey and other Arab or Muslim nations are trying to build bases in Somalia, Sudan and Eritrea. Therefore, Ethiopia should respond in kind by accessing the sea or destabilizing the region. Ethiopia with 125 million people has a responsibility to protect its own languages, identity, interest, resources and position in the region.

i doubt ethiopia can go against uncle sam , unless they convince the israelis that this is a good deal but i doubt they can convince the israelis to convince the US that this good for Ethiopia. Besides Ethiopia has shifted towards the Brics countries this means that The Americans will not be allies of Ethiopia or protect Ethiopian interest against the Interest of the Somali people or Somalia, Gone are the days, that u used to convince Britain and Portgual that u are Christian island surrounded By Muslim Somalis Muslims Sudanese and Muslim Yemeni Arabs. The only thing that can stop that deal is if Somalia offers somaliland a better deal. Which is very unlikely. I wonder why Somalia and djibouti are still denying somaliland rights for recognition? Well this time they gonna pay heavy price for their stupidness. No more circus.

Abiye Ahmed Ali can’t be trusted. He is a criminal responsible for the deaths and destruction of Ethiopia.
He must go and he will be removed.
Ethiopians should focus in getting rid of him. Period.
What hasn’t been lost on Ethiopians is that Somali Land has been pushing to work with Ethiopians for many years for the transformation of the region. That is a welcome news that will be reviewed by a future government.
The Eritreans are out of the conversation here as it has nothing to do with them. Yet they are the ones in this forum and other media embarrassing themselves making the loudest noise in the affairs of Somalia and Ethiopia.
That tells us something about the desperation of the Ascaris.
