Eritrea, South Sudan, Kosovo, East-Timor, among others became independent after 1991, when Somaliland declared its independence from Somalia but failed for so long to garner the recognition from the rest of the world community. For over 30 years the rights to self-determination of the people of Somaliland was not recognized in the face of many others that sought and got the same right.
Why treat differently?
Is double standard the norm at the so called UN? I have to call it so called as it is in fact not the united nations of the world, but an entity where some are more equal than others. It is effectively where few have a grip over others and as such made it the their tool.
Somaliland needs to be recognized without a delay as an independent state.

We're not here to educate all school dropouts of Ethiopia.
Re: Why the difference?
Somaliland is a victim of unfair world order. Three in four Somalilanders were born after Somaliland became defacto independent state. They don't have any memory of being part of Somalia. They should gain international recognition and the exclusion from international finance and politics should end. It is immoral to force them to be part of Somalia. It's important to respect the wishes and autonomy of others.

You should better worry about what would happen in case those convoys carrying the food aid that your starving people are desperate for stop coming one day.
That day would be the doomsday of Tigray. You would all be crying in the streets as you do at funerals.

Illiterate Galla
There is only one Somalia in the world and northern Somalia is an inalienable part of it.
And this is what makes Somalia different from other countries.
