🇪🇹 91% of Ethiopia’s Tigray population at risk of starvation, death said the Tigray president

The authorities in Ethiopia's Tigray region warned of a looming famine linked to drought and the lingering effects of the devastating two-year war in the north of the country.

Getachew Reda, president of the interim regional authority in Tigray, said more than 91% of the population was "exposed to the risk of starvation and death" and called for the Ethiopian government and international community to help.

The shortage of seasonal rainfall in the region’s three zones and desert locust infestation are creating a humanitarian crisis.

Reda warned that the lack of a concerted effort to address the tragedy will have deadly consequences and far-reaching ramifications for national and regional peace and stability.

Diaspora agame are too busy disturbing Eritrean festivals and fighting against the police to even be bothered by what's happening to the people they left behind in Tigray. :| :|

Instead of getting obsessed with Eritrea and its president, they should better worry about what would happen in case those convoys carrying the food aid that their people are desperate for stop coming one day.

That day would be the doomsday of Tigray. They would all be crying in the streets as they do at funerals.
