Aside from bad acting,

I think there is some truth to it. The Tigrayan women are feisty. The Amhara ladies are romantic, and the Eritrean ladies are business like patriotic.

It is a fact that the typical Agame female is raped at least once in her life-time. Young girls, even pre-teen, are assaulted by a close relation. Thus, it is only those with exceptional lying tendencies who can claim that Agame women are tough and self-reliant. But then again, Thomas is an Agame and thus an exceptional liar.
