Okbagabir Gebretnsae (ዙራ'ሞ ሃገርካ) thought in the 1970s that Ethiopian zemach would turn Asmara's buildings into fortress and he thought Asmara would be destroyed in the independence war. I have witnessed with my own eyes on the 24th May 1991 that the Ethiopians have actually left Asmara without a single fight in the city. Who would have thought Asmara ብደቃ ክትዓንው? He would have said መዓንጣኻዩ ዘሕርር ደቃ ኸዕንውዋ፤ ከምታ መዓንጣኻዩ ዘሕርር ዘማች ክዕንድረላ ዝበላ

True. Many of the old gedli songs we know were his songs. Checkout Tefeno's interview about Oqbqgqbir.
Neber was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid. I didn't not understand what it was about when I was a young boy although I kept saying እዋይ ነበር ምዃን ክሓስም፡ ሓፍ ኮፍ ትብል ኔርካስ ድሓር ትም. I knew about the history of the song when came to the West.

The lovely song was originally sang by wed-sheik but I prefer how ORION SALIH improved it
The title of the song was SALOBA.. An excerpt from the lyrics:

I like the sibra... Sibbbbbber tile... Dib medayeen (in towns)... Belom ezema (destroy them) the young girl has lovely voice and I liked her.
