EU pledges delayed $680 million aid package for Ethiopia
The European Union on Tuesday pledged a $680 million aid package for Ethiopia that was delayed due to a 2020-2022 civil war in its northern Tigray region.
"Ethiopia is engaged in a peace process, transitional justice and reform. The European Union has consistently supported these tracks," European Commissioner for International Partnerships told.
"Together, the EU and Ethiopia aim to gradually normalise relations through structured political dialogue and rebuild a mutual reinforcing partnership," she said.
The aid package had been due to be disbursed between 2021 and 2027.
The resumption of EU budget support, which was suspended in January 2021, was contingent on Ethiopia agreeing to a reform program with the International Monetary Fund, as well as achieving other "political conditions", she added.
Ethiopia's finance minister said the aid deal signified the "strategic importance" of Ethiopia's partnership with the EU.

But, further budgetary support is not resumed (for that several more "very strict" conditions must be met).
Like a dad, putting conditions on his child for the weekly allowance to continue.

It is undoubtedly just a matter of when not a matter of if. As far as I am concerned. When aid money starts rolling in from the West, it's always a sign that preparation for a bloodbath is underway. This is not something new that started with Ukraine but so was the case with TPLF and in many other countries as well.
Mr. Hammer has so far managed to accomplish his mission of creating devastating civil-war between once allied forces against TPLF. If he will be even more successful in making it bigger, only time will tell.
