I think Elias is in the process of moving this forum onto a new server and I believe it'll be back once the relocation process is completed.
However, it's not us to speculate or guess why the search function has been disabled. He's the one who is supposed to inform and update forum users on what's happening, as he's the one who owns this sh.it.
A good few years ago, he was itching to have a post in an Ethiopian government, yet he's not even able to run his forum, which is the worst forum I've ever come across.
He doesn't even seem to know that a forum should have rules, etiquette, and general posting guidelines.

The problem, or the luck, depending from which side you may look at it, with Elias is that he has the monopoly of Ethiopian discussion forums. This forum is from the Menelik era and still we keep coming.
FB (Meta), X (twitter), Youtube, Instagram and so forth have no capacity to compete with this forum, the oldies!
I just tried to search for something, in vain.

Who is stopping the Ethnocentric oromo and tigrayes from running their own discussion forums? If you have issues with this forum (menilik era

after all phpbb and similar are Free Open Source Software (FOSS).

Your ignorant and imbecilic reasoning is like a restaurant owner telling their clients, hey, don't tell me anything about what I'm serving, if you don't like like it go somewhere else.
But the restaurant owner is not cooking for himself but the public. By the same token, it's not Elias who is posting on this forum but forum users, and they've every right to express their concerns.
FYI, when you go to businesses run/owned by Elias in DC and VA areas, he's more than happy to come to you personally to ask you whether you've liked the service or not. And I'm talking from personal experience.

They tried but no one is interested in their garbage. Same is true with the TPLFites and Eris. They just can’t help it. They have no life without Ethiopia.
