The only binding glue for Oro-Amara alliance was shared rivalry against TPLF. If TPLF was dismantled five years ago , the Oromo-Amara war could had started five years ago. Similarly the alliance of Isaias with Gindare extermists and later with Oro-Amhara was to continue until TPLF is dismantled and until Oro-Amara/ Abiy continues to be the puppet of Isaias. Hence, even the alliance with Isaias was a ticking bomb to explode at a time Oro-Amhara tries to assert its freedom from the remote control of Isaias. Therefore, the claim that the war between Amara and Oromo had started because of the Pretoria Agreement is a cover up to hide the real reason of the war which is the fierce power rivalry between Amaras and Oromos. Following to the Pretoria Agreement, Isaias was forced to ally with Amhara instead of Oromos due to the historic relationship between Gindare extermists and Isaias, the geopolitical attractiveness of Amhara for Eritrea and the fact that Abiy signed a reconcilation agreement with TPLF which has been a major uncalculated and unexpected blow for Isaias and his strategic puppet allies which are the Amhara extremists.

Characterizing the current conflict as an Amara and Oromo conflict is a deliberate distortion of facts. It's a conflict between the government and anyone who dares oppose it.
Whether it be OLA in the areas it's active in, such as wallaga where the endf has been committing war crimes for years, while other Ethiopians ignore those events or simply don't care, or jawar speaking out against certain policies without supporting the concept of armed struggle.
OLA and other Oromo's were speaking up, while others were cheering abiy on. Personally, as an individual, I've always been cautiously optimistic about him.

Opdo has never been a legitimate party in Oromia. It governs based on having a monopoly on force, particularly in Oromia but elsewhere too.
Not on having the support of a majority of the masses.
However, as I've said before, as Oromo's we'll take the opdo or the devil we know, over the devil we don't know (fano, those who yearn to bring back menelik or haile selassies Ethiopia, etc).
Many of their activists foolishly make all Oromo their enemy when they say these things, like "we're fighting all galla and oromumma," which is a war they'll never win. Fighting abiys regime is one thing... but fighting the oromos as a nation is an entirely different thing.

Opdo is led by Jimma Oromos and the Arsi and Shewans benefit from their ruling but the welegans rebelled and formed OLA to commit gencide on amhara people. although the welegan and jimman are both maccha spiritually and politically they are different people (PP leaders of Jimma vs Welega OLF leaders) Ambo is currently divided politically.

OLF needed abiys army to save them in Horu Gudru from fano

you must be out of your head even to say FANO (Amharas) want to bring back feudalism and monarchy at this time and age. the trouble with you lot is you are emotionally driven ,devoid of rational thinking.

Unless we want to be politically correct elites from each ethinic group in coordination with Egypt and Eriteria have succeeded to create hostile rivalry among the different ethinic groups. This hostile rivalry could be tamed if Ethiopia gets the right political leadership that works toward unity in diversity.
