To the contrary ! One would expect the attacks to intensify as the Fanos get closer and closer to Addis Abeba. Remember what happened to the Tigrayans last time. The Tigrayans had neither the intention nor the ability to storm the capital but the government felt that something had to be done instead of waiting for the vulnerable Djibouti-Addis road getting under the control of the enemy forces.

At this moment the government feels rather comfortable because fighting is taking place in some parts of Amhara while things are normal enough in Addis Abeba and Oromia to allow the prime minister to receive foreign guests. Addis is not Khartoum.

You can't compare Fano with TPLF. TPLF did not have the support of the people at that time and never will. Fanos have the support of almost all the people in the Amhara region and approimately 90% of Addis Ababans support Fanos; not to mention all the support from the South and other regions of Ethiopia. Fanos stand for democracy, truth, justice, fairness, and equality for all Ethiopians. TPLF stood only for the ethnic rights of its own ethnicity. There lies the big difference.
