To put it simply, Ethiopia is not only home for the Ethiopians themselves, but for many more and Eritreans are not an exception.

Ethiopia has got a culture where a stranger is accorded more respect than the host and honored as a guest. We offer our guest everything that is better from what we have in the house. የእንግዳ መቀበያ (which is suppossed to be the better quality of what we have).
We offer our beds to our guests and sleep on the ground to honor our guest.

You can go and look for and bring any other country where the guest is accorded more privilege and honor than in Ethipia and prove me wrong.

We don't discriminate, it is against our core value.

This is a very interesting topic there Somaliman and I applaud u for opening it for u have observed a few things.

Let’s begin first to adress the Eritrean identity the Eritrean identity as it currently stands is an identity which was constructed by the late eplf a rebel movement. Which rose up in the 1970s this rebel movement had difficulties first to adress Eritrean historical identity so they started to some extend re write some history in which they established that the Eritrean tigrigna speakers are a total different ethnic make up then their agame cousins down south. What one has to understand is during the 1940s there was a unionist party a party which was supported by allot of tigrigna speakers of eritrea . The tigrigna people were in love with the late Haile sellasie he transformed him self as some sort of messiah to them a Christian messiah. Allot of eri Christian’s supported him and his unification efforts they even named their first born daughters Ethiopia, u have to understand.


The Eritrean tigrigna speakers in name and culture and ethics and understanding are more Ethiopians then let’s say allot of other current Ethiopian ethnic groups . I am singling out the Eritrean kebessa folks as I call the short legged kebessa community it’s only them that have an attachment to Ethiopia when eritrea became independent the Tigre and saho and beja never looked back don’t go to teddy 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐨 festivals . They don’t involve in Ethiopia or it’s politics or any of that the Loweland Eritrean left Ethiopia and never looked back but for the most part the short legged kebessas their hearts and minds and soul is stil in Addis Ababa and their physical body is in Asmara .

It’s strange to explain they are trapped in some sort of identity lope between two nations , they can’t leave their constructed eritrea identity which gives them nostalgia and spaghetti memories but they can’t leave their mother which is Ethiopia to so there is a dilemma there hence why u have some times short legged shabians tell us that we should follow Amhara and we should dissolve the federation and wish to be under Amhara Christian centralised rule the same rule of Haile sellasie .

Eritreans could have helped dissolve Ethiopia but they didn’t they placed their agame cousins in Addis and fought the other ethnic groups and forced them submit to their agame cousins . The fall out came later ,had there not been a fall out between the short legged kebessas and agames. The would have jointly ruled Ethiopia as two separate entities . The agames became greedy and put a tight rope on the short legged kebessas neck. And the rest u know misery isolation geopolitical war inside Somalia between Shabia and woyane. Culturally the kebessas are the purest habesha more pure then agame and the clever by half Amharas . The history of axumite kingdom is found for the most part in what is today Eritrea. The British once tried to solve this Eritrean crisis the British suggested to put half of Eritrea under Sudan beja Tigre and the other half under Haile sellasie and divide the region into two because there are two camps the habesha orthodox part and the Muslim lowland part . The British suggested this. But it was then later rejected all of eritrea was then placed under king Haile sellasie the rest u know. Jebha started fighting and the war for liberation began indeed .

So there is an identity problem here an historic problem and there is the cultural aspect this forum has more Eritreans then Ethiopians that alone tells u a lot indeed .

Fed up is the clear example of an Eritrean that really likes to feel like an Ethiopian. What people fail to understand is that. Eritrea might have formally separated from Ethiopia but psychologically it has never separated from Ethiopia. Fed up is a clear example he speaks better Amharic then Tigrinya he loves to eat raw meat and is an amiche if given the chance he rather live in Ethiopia then in Eritrea . It was just so unfortunate for our short legged amiches. That their agame cousins removed them from Ethiopia because they didn’t like the colour of their eyes, targeting their short legged cousins who were colonised by the Italians indeed.

It wouldn’t even matter where u from. What u say is what u encountered and how u experienced these Eritreans . It wouldn’t make any different had u been from Swaziland .
