Oromo's in general won't fight for Abiy's throne, but know this: they will defend Oromia.

The truth is, the primary and main victims of the Abiy led OPDO, has always been the Oromo masses. Abiy's career includes being a spy in Oromia, places like Wallaga, where he identified Oromo nationalists, and targeted them with TPLF. TPLF with all of its flaws and evil, has origins as a people's party in Tigray and they struggled for their people without necessarily being beholden to the interests of others (until they came to power and of course, became western puppets). OPDO has no such history of armed struggle. We all know this. It was created in the last few years of the derg.
This same OPDO wants to be to Oromia, what the TPLF is to Tigray, or what EPLF is to Eritrea, despite not having the same history within Oromia.
They got power and maintained it by force, not by the will and support of the masses.
No need to go over history, when we know the OPDO was created by the TPLF (Shabia did help too, but hey, it is what it is), to counter the OLF and to also, have a puppet/satellite party in Oromia that would facilitate the subjugation, exploitation (use Oromia to build up tigray), and marginalization of Oromia & Oromo's.
Eventually, the Oromo led movement sparked, then the Amara and others joined, and the opportunist OPDO and their allies in the EPRDF, saw a chance to diminish the over-sized/unfair power the TPLF had, and the rest is history.
Now, they have decided to fight in Amara region, not thinking of the consequences, such as, awakening an Ethiopian giant.
Amara is not tiny tigray, no offense, just being honest. It's the 2nd biggest state and has the 2nd biggest nation in Ethiopia. It cannot be subjugated if the masses refuse.
Of course, like those before him, megistu and meles and even further back, the govt will try to use force, only to fail in the end.
I know for a fact that, most Oromo want nothing to do with this war, nor did we want anything to do with the war in tigray, the goal was to kick tplf out of oromia, after that; what they do in tigray is up to them.
Now, to proceed, if the current amara militia moves into oromia, what do you think will occur if they do not establish an understanding/alliance with the Oromo masses? It will be seen as an invasion, similar to when they went to wallaga and got a bloody nose after some harsh fights.
To sum it up: no need to fight to defend abiy's throne, but our people will defend oromia for sure.
