5 year timeline - how Amhara went from the most pro-abiy region to the least.

Cascade of choices the PM made that lost him his most ardent supporters:

2018 - Abiy appointed as PM
- the biggest, most enthusiastic show of support displayed for thr enw PM in amhara and addis ababa.
- brings in Takele Uma as mayor of addis and begins the behind the scenes demographic re-engineering of the city in favor of the Oromo to the disfavour of gurage silte, amhara and gamo.
- the first burayu massacre and expulsions targeting gamo, kaffa craftsmen around burayu perpetrated by querro.
- Addis ababans protest, display banners demanding OPDO and Oromia government leave their city . Oromo elites shocked.
- All mainstream Oromo parties including Abiy's OPDO release a press statement proclaiming Addis Ababa to be an Oromian city.
- Gumuz bandits massacre amharas living in metekel. Amhara security chief Gen. Asaminew responds by sending a counterparty to gumuz. Abiy and company livid.
- Gen. Asaminew involved in a shootout that leaves officials dead, he is then killed by abiy's federal forces. Asaminew elevated to a martyr.
- olf goes on a massacring spree in wollega targeting amharas. Surviving amharas of wollega flee to safety to amhara region. Silence from abiy federal government also from the oromia admin.
- tigray war breaks out. Abiy conquers mekele in two weeks.
- months later abiy flees tigrayas as tplf makes a comeback.
- tplf counter invasion devastates eastern amhara but fails to take wolkait.
- tpls capitulates signs Pretoria agreement, acknowledging subservience to Abiy but gain nothing in return feulling suspicion they may've been promised wolkait and raya under the table at the cost of amhara , giving credence to the suspicion, abiy's federal forces enter amhara to disarm armed militia groups in amhara while openly acknowleding thay tplf will remain armed and will only be disarmed of heavy weaponry.
- cross country travellers from amhara into Addis ababa complain of being singled our and discriminated against by oromian officials and refused entry to the capital.
- oromian officials in the capital also mandate for schools fly the oromian flag and sing the oromian national anthem. After an uproar by the city residents, the mandate is shelved.
- oromia admin adjoins districts surrounding Addis ababa to organize a new city - sheger. Expells non oromos living in those districts calling them illegal squatters, continuing the project of demographic re-engineering started in 2018 by Takele.

2023 - armed militancy in amhara begins
militia in amhara started to openly confront abiy's federal forces. Centre of operations being seminars wollo and semien shewa
- amhara popular force proclaimed by eskinder nega who has been in hinding in amhara for over a year.
- fano militia captures over a third of amhara territory, inviting a federal response.
