“The worst of all deceptions is self-deception.” — Plato. Self-deception is the act of lying to yourself, having false notions about things, and refusing to acknowledge the truth. We lie to ourselves when we are not ready to face reality when it may be upsetting and unfavorable.

As a result of thousands of years of wars, famines, poverty and diseases, Agames developed self-deception to an art. So much so, that they are totally incapable of differentiation between reality and their world of fantasies. They think that it is enough to assert something for it to be real. Thus, they tell themselves that war is a sport for them and expect that to lead to victories in the battle field. When the sport turns out to have consumed a million of their youth, they claim it was genocide. When they lose all their armaments, they cry about spoons and forks. Their entire strategy is to continually lie to themselves so that they don't have to deal with the devastating miseries! But one cannot lie about reality forever. Sooner or later, reality forces itself in. And Agame are now witnessing all their house of cards fall.
