there is something called a contextual information. The copy page you posted is supposed to have been a biography of Abebe Bikila written by his own daughter, a close family member. As such one could expect that the accounts are also precise and to the tiny details, as opposed to as a one which could have been written by someone of a distant acquaintance, for example.

This account of the daughter doesn't seem very detail for me: why, as an example, she just write "in a mountainous village in Debre Berhan" as opposed to naming the specific locality by its name?

I assume there are many mountainous villages in Debre Berhan, so we can't say in which of those places the legend was born, and we have to ask ourselves why didn't the family want to share this information with the audience?

I can't think of any sound reason to skip this not so unimportant part of someone's biography (a birth place), unless there could be some intentional omission of the key information. In this case Ato Achamyeleh Tamiru (Dr.?) should have shared with us why this is missing, or the reason it why it had to be left out.

If we don't know such minute things, then we can start to question the reliability of the whole narrative as it is.

I am also not sure if Debre Berhan is so rich in dairy products, as a cold place, which has been also referred to as such in the pasted copy of the pages.

Such deviations from the usual knowledge of the people could cast a doubt in the whole truthiness of the book account or the overriding motive of writing the biography, to begin with. I am not saying the book is inaccurate but just took the first glimps of the pages and asked such tiny things before questioning anything.

The other key important is also the later legend was also partly the making of Kinfe, in addition to the personal effort of the legend himself. Kinfe is referred to as Kinfe Bikila, an Oromo name, and somebody like the Achamyeleh Tamiru would like to snatch him his life achievment, while coming from Gojjam, the hotbed of Amhara archaic nationalism of today in Ethiopia.

Please post the parts which also shows the correction or points that could clear my doubt around the motive of the author of the book I raised here.

Abebe Bikila is closer to Kinfe Bikila than to Achamyehleh Tamiru of Gojjam, end of story.

There is nothing wrong in the Ethiopian culture for someone to be the guardian. Many have been called by their grand father's name, step-father, or Guardian. I came across many people swearing in Emperor Haileselassie for anyone to believe if they mean it when they are true abou it.

You are just trying to evade the fact, just like some wolf pastors distort or interpete the Bible to tune to their desire.
Abebe's mother had three marraiges. In the book, Kinfe was born from her first marriage whose father was Bikila, where as Abebe was the blessings she had from her second husband ( Demissie). After divorcing Demissie she married another man. How complex is this statement.

---- You pretend to be know Debre-Berhan. And even question if there were cows. If there were no cows in Debre-Berhan there could not oxen and Debre-Berhan Amhara coul not farm and produce foo. Yes, it is the land of milk and meat, food grain.

Abebe Bikila was born in Jato, Debre Berhan, Shewa.

Thanks for the answer, but my question was meant to post a part of the book where the birth place was also stated as such, if there is one.

If there is not, then the question is why was it omitted?
