Delighted 2 have had warm discussions with Dr Henok Tekie (GP) & “barefoot doctor” Ismail Adem on ways 2 strengthen Primary Care Services in Emberemi, Eritrea. Ismail is one of two “barefoot doctors” in Emberemi, that acts as a primary healthcare provider @ the grass-roots level. Today, many low- and middle-income nations are trying to build strong primary care systems that provide health promotion, disease prevention, accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, timely referral, and management of communicable and noncommunicable diseases.
