Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Orthodox Chruch have been persecuting Tigrayans for generations. As an example :
The world-famous Christian reformer Aba Estifanous of the 15th century, who started his reformist work about 100 years ahead of the German reformer Martin Luther. Aba Estifanos was savagely and cruelly killed by Emperor Zara Yaqoob in Debre-Berhan Shewa. His followers irrespective of ethinicity have also been persecuted and killed until now and I could claim I am one of the victims.

The suffering of Aba Sereke is very historical because it is happening at the time the Tigray Orthodox Church is being born and his suffering, even if he dies, is historic and worthy .
